Queen's 60th Anniversary of Daqing Exhibition 200 years of royal jewelry (pictured)

To celebrate the Queen’s 60th anniversary, Buckingham Palace will display royal jewelry for nearly 200 years this summer and will present some of the Queen’s private jewelry for the first time. A crown-like tiara that the queen loved very much, a necklace worn on a coronation ceremony, earrings, and a brooch set with pink diamonds will be the highlights of the show.

The name of this exhibition is "Diamonds: A Jubilee Celebration" and will be an important part of Buckingham Palace opening this summer. The most attractive of the exhibits is the "Girls of Great Britian Tiara" (Girls of Great Britian Tiara). The crown-shaped headwear, though full of diamonds, was lighter in weight and easier to wear, so it was deeply loved by the Queen and was called by her as "grandma's headdress" because it was a British woman in 1893. The “British and Irish Girls” fundraiser bought the wedding gift that was given to the future Queen Victoria of the time. She is the Queen of Mary in the future, that is, the Queen’s grandmother. When the Queen was married today, Queen Mother of Mary gave it to her as a wedding gift.

In November last year, the Queen held this national headdress in honor of the King of Turkey and wore a set of diamond necklaces and earrings she had worn at the coronation ceremony in 1953. This diamond necklace is also on display. It includes 25 diamonds arranged in order of magnitude, and a drop-shaped pendant with a weight of 22.48 carats in the middle. A pair of diamond earrings matches it. This necklace also experienced Queen Alexandra and Queen Mary's coronation.

Another attraction in the exhibits will be the small crown worn by Queen Victoria. The diameter of this crown is only 3.5 inches (about 8.7 centimeters) and about 4 inches (4 inches) high), but it has 1200 diamonds on it. The crown was made by Gerald's jewelry line in London, which was just enough to cover the veil of Queen Victoria who was worn by Queen Victoria after her husband’s death. Because of the lighter weight of the crown, she often wore this crown during the last 30 years of her reign. It appeared on the official portrait of her 50th and 60th year of the throne.

A flower-shaped brooch that is very popular with the Queen is also on display. In the middle of this brooch is a rare pink diamond weighing 23.6 carats from Tanzania, which is said to be the best pink diamond in the world. It was a wedding gift from the Canadian geologist John Williamson in 1947 to the then Princess Elizabeth. Later, this diamond was cut into this flower-shaped brooch, so this brooch was also called the Williamson brooch.

The exhibits also include South African necklaces and matching bracelets that the Queen called “My Best Diamond”. This is a gift from the South African government that the Queen received on her 21st birthday. She was in Cape Town, South Africa. 52 years later, when the South African President visited the UK in 2010, the Queen once wore it.

Someone asked what the value of the royal jewelry displayed at this time was, and the Royal Collection's experts said: "It's like you are asking how much weight the world has. Calculating this is absolutely meaningless and not Possibly, but it will become a truly spectacular exhibition."
